Far from the city, in a French village, the young people have left, the shutters are closed and the only road in the village is empty. Yet, this ghost village has a few inhabitants who were born there and have stayed. In this documentary, we meet four women, the last generation of a marginal lifestyle that is gradually disappearing. These women talk about the past, their lives, their dreams, their regrets, and about the future of these rural areas that seem to have been abandoned. City life or country life ? For them, the choice is obvious. This film is about nature, rural exodus and hope.
Currently screened in More Museum (Gorssel location), part of the exhibition ‘Reality Check’ happening in Netherlands from the 16th of Febrary till the 9th of June.
